Dubai to Women’s Six Nations, France recruits sevens players

France has just concluded their Dubai campaign and took home the second round championship prize. With the Emirates Invitational 7s tournament happening at the same time as the Women’s Six Nations first round. The Les Blues team that went on against Wales seemed to have been missing a a few familiar faces.

With France coming close to the day they go up against a fairly stronger Irish side, France has called on their sevens players to comeback to play in the larger format. As they prepared this week for the games, France Rugby social media has been posting training videos and sneak peaks for fans to enjoy, and some players seemed to have jumped from Dubai to Women’s Six Nations.

France has already posted their line up and some names are to be welcomed back in the bigger format.

Caroline Drouin was one player that missed out on the Women’s Six Nations, the fly half had an impressive performance in mid field in Dubai as they got back their footing in the smaller format. Her consistent kicks helped put players under the ball during restarts and her conversions were much appreciated in some games.

Drouin has been an impressive addition to the French side, and with her in the line up for Ireland, it will surely help some fans stay confident about he big W at the end of the game.

Romane Menager is another player that took Dubai by storm, the Number 8 in XV’s tore some defensive lines with her big carries in the Emirates Invitational games, her pure pace and power was something that gave France an edge for their even faster speedsters to start running lines.

Romane is the other half of the Menager sisters, her sister played in the first round against Wales, but Romane’s experience added to her sisters, will surely make these two, double trouble for Ireland come game day.

The game this weekend will be a fun game to watch as England awaits which team from pool B makes the finals against them.
