According to Fiji Sun, the Uluinakau rugby 7s team acknowledges the Fiji Rugby Union for hosting the Super Sevens Series that could change the lives of the players in the future.
Team head coach Maleli Kolinivala said his objective is to set a benchmark for the club in local sevens tournaments and have an impact on the livelihood of his players.
“The team consists of players around the country and recently we had two players from the interior of Ra and one from Kadavu who turned up with an interest to play,” said Kolinivala.
“The purpose of this team is for players to play, perform and try to secure a contract locally ot overseas.
“If my players are offered contracts to play for the Police, Army, Fire or Wardens 7s team, I will be glad to release them because thats an opportunity for employment.
Kolinivala added that a win in the Series will be a bonus for the Uluinakau 7s team.
“I thank the FRU for coming up with this idea to host such event as this will be a chance for the players to showcase their talents,” he said.
Uluinakau is pooled with Police Blue, Fire and BLK Stallions. The tournament will be held on Friday and Saturday at the Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
