Uganda Rugby Sevens head coach Tolbert Onyango has announced the squad set to compete in the new World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series, Ugandan media reported.
The team will be facing opponents from 15 other nations over two rounds in the coming inaugural tournament in South America. With the first round to be held in Viña del Mar, Chile, and the second round in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The other 15 teams are Zimbabwe, Uruguay, Tonga, Portugal, Papua New Guinea, Japan, Jamaica, Italy, Hong Kong, Germany, Chile, Brazil, Columbia, Mexico and Paraguay.
“These are the best players we have got and as a technical bench, we are confident they will deliver,” said Uganda Rugby Sevens head coach Onyango after announcing the lineup Wednesday evening at Kyadondo Rugby Ground.
Andrew Owor, Vice President of Rugby Africa, congratulated the African squad alongside Zimbabwe, for their participation in the Rugby Challengers Series 2020.

‘’I would like to congratulate the selected team because their hard work has paid off,” said Uganda captain Michael Okorach.
“There is a full blend of talent and skill in the team named for the upcoming tournaments, some have been on the scene before and the new ones have also got some good exposure, so i am sure we are going to show the world how much talent we have in Uganda.’’
