Scottish side Edinburgh have beaten Glasgow Warriors to the signature of Fiji Sevens captain Kalione Nasoko, who has committed to a two-year deal, according to reports.
The 28-year-old Nasoko, who stands 6-foot-3, has played 142 matches and scored 63 tries since his debut on the HSBC World Sevens Series in 2016 in Dubai. He has been part of victorious Fijian teams in Hamilton, Hong Kong, London, Singapore, and Vancouver.
The 92kg player was named in the World Series dream teams in 2017 and 2018.
According to The Scotsman, he will join fellow Fijian Villiame Mata in Edinburgh and play in the Guinness Pro 14 Championship when the new season begins in the summer. He will be available after the 2018/19 sevens series ends.

“I am very excited by the opportunity to join Edinburgh. I am friends with Villiame Mata and he has said great things about the club, I can’t wait to get started,” Nasoko was quoted as saying.
“This is a great opportunity for my family, and after many years on the sevens circuit, I can’t wait for this new challenge in Scotland. Everyone sounds very welcoming and I am looking forward to running out in front of the Edinburgh fans.:
Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill, added: “ Kalione is a tremendously exciting player, who is obviously captain of the Fiji Sevens side. He’ll predominantly play as a winger, but he has also played at 13.
“Kalione brings something different to our back-three. He gives us a little more of an X-factor, and as you see with the good teams around Europe you need that type of threat.”
Edinburgh are fourth in the standings in Conference B after 18 games with 47 points.
