Are American rock band Smash Mouth becoming the muses of the HSBC World Seven Series. If so, few are complaining after the makers of hits such as All Star, Walkin’s  On The Sun and Why Can’t We Be Friends rocked the house in Hong Kong in 2018 and are now set to do the same for the island-state fans at the 2019 Singapore Sevens, according to reports.

During the first day of the tournament, on April 13 at the National Stadium, Smash Mouth will play hits between matches. On the second day, the band from the original cast who performed the five-time Tony Award nominated musical on Broadway, Rock Of Ages, will put together a set featuring classic hits from the production.

The Singapore Sevens, which recently emerged in second place in World Rugby evaluation points behind Vancouver, in Canada, will this year showcase a Sevens Splash Party for the first time to be held beside the Singapore Sports Hub’s Splash-N-Surf. It will boast local artists and entertainment for the family. The Singapore Sevens organisers are focusing on making the tournament a family-friendly affair.

The Singapore event will be held the week after the Hong Kong Sevens and will be the eighth leg of the 10-city world series. The next leg will be in Las Vegas, United States from March 1-3.
